Setting up a Google Adsense account and getting your ads live, is literally the easiest thing in the world. Within 30 minutes you can have your ads live and be at the top of Google. Sounds great? Yes, BUT if you are a complete beginner, then chances are you will set the campaign up all wrong, and you will be flushing your money down the drain. Like with everything, Google
see’s ‘Relevancy’ as the key. Google wants to give their customers the best searching experience possible. This means they reward ads that they think are relevant to the keywords they want to appear for and also penalise sites that are not.
For instance if you have a site about Watermelons and you ask for your ad to appear under the search phrase ‘kids bikes’ then you are going to have to pay through the roof. In reality this is an extreme example as no one selling Watermelons would ask to appear for a phrase about bikes but you will find the same result even within a niche. So it is often best practice to make multiple campaigns that each focus on one particular micro niche rather than creating one ginormous list of keywords that all go to the same ad.
